NEWS

Dr. Richard Pan/Senator, 6th District Senator has asked us to forward this information to our community;

Dear Friend and Neighbor,

Thank you for all that you are doing to slow the spread of the coronavirus in our community.  I am writing you today to share information about California’s Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program.

Last month, the Governor Newsom announced the creation of a $500 million Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program to provide grants up to $25,000 to eligible small businesses and nonprofits to help cover expenses during the pandemic.

Last week, the Governor’s Office of Business and Economic Development launched its portal & website: www.CAReliefGrant.com to assist small businesses with the application process.

Application process: There will be two rounds of grants.  We are currently in Round 1 of the application process. Applications during this round are due January 13, 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Round 2 will be announced at a later date.  However, one complete application will qualify the small business or nonprofit for both rounds so applicants should only apply once.

Small businesses and nonprofits are encouraged to visit CAReliefGrant.com to learn more about their eligibility, the business documents required for the application, and other resources on how to apply.

Grant Amounts: Depending on the size of the business, grant awards will be between $5,000 to $25,000.  For more information, visit CAReliefGrant.com

Webinars & Resources:  The Small Business COVID-19 Relief Grant Program will be providing daily webinars in multiple languages on the application process, and will be working with different partners throughout the State to provide assistance to applicants.  For webinar information, click here.  To find partners, visit https://careliefgrant.com/partners/county/.

Small businesses are the backbone of California’s economy, creating two-thirds of new jobs and employing nearly half of all private sector employees. This latest round of action at the state level will help bridge the financial gaps and assist California’s small businesses and nonprofits struggling as a result of the COVID-19 crisis.

A full list of existing state support for businesses can be found here.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, do not hesitate to contact my office at: Senator.Pan@senate.ca.gov.

Sincerely,

Dr. Richard Pan
