A 2018 Gallup Poll indicates low-density, single-family neighborhoods like Land Park are what all families desire, regardless of race or income. Here is the full report; https://news.gallup.com/poll/245249/americans-big-idea-living-country.aspx
Yet, the Sacramento Bee posted an article about how neighborhoods like Land Park are on the way out. Instead, “high density” neighborhoods with fewer backyards and more rental units will replace the look and feel of our current neighborhood. The article explains this is the best way to solve inequities in Sacramento. You can review the article here;https://www.sacbee.com/opinion/op-ed/article236407733.html
So, which is the best vision for Land Park? And where is the balance between preserving a family-friendly neighborhood and making room for future residents? Join the Land Use Committee on Wednesday, January 13th to listen and ask questions about the 2040 General Plan. City planners will discuss changing the zoning for all residential lots to accommodate multi-unit housing. Yes, including traditional neighborhoods like ours.
