The new native plant garden at Plaza Cervantes Park is already blooming! A neighborhood group, the Friends of Plaza Cervantes Garden, working with the Land Park Community Association and the Sacramento Parks Department, is volunteering its time and energy to make this garden grow and thrive!
Successfully growing a local garden of California native plants, however, is only Stage 1 of a larger project. Stage 2 is promoting gardening with California native plants to a wider public.
This includes adding a beautiful and informative sign to educate the public about the environmental benefits with this approach to gardening. The cost is $950.00 Donors will be invited to the garden dedication event where they will receive recognition for their support.
