I hope you are all staying safe and healthy. I want to provide some updates to all of you. These updates will include information about our Police Districts (4A and 4B) and our police department. I have attached our Monthly Chief’s Report. This document provides statistics on mental health calls, firearm related incidents and response times. The report provides the statistics for January 2020 versus January 2021 and the percent change in each category. As I have shared, in 2020, we experienced a drastic increase in violent crimes. In January of this year, we are again seeing significant numbers in violent crimes, including:

January 2020: 6

416.7 % INCREASE
Shooting Reports:
January 2020: 35
January 2021: 72
105.7 % INCREASE
Total Number of Firearms Seized:
January 2020: 80
January 2021: 148
85.0 % INCREASE
Arrests for Possession of Firearm:
January 2020: 65
January 2021: 104
60.0 % INCREASE
Good News! We had an 11.9 % increase in the average working patrol officers (per month):
