NEWS

Thank you to everyone who participated in Phase 1 of the City’s redistricting process. The Communities of Interest map (COI) received 54 “hearts” and several helpful comments. This was the most participation on any submitted COI map!

Now, we are in the last phase and your voice needs to be heard before the final map is approve by the City’s Redistricting Commissioners.

As of 11-9-21, the LPCA does not see public access to submitted maps. As soon as we do, we will update our website post. Although this information is not public yet, the City’s Redistricting Commission is hosting public meetings beginning this week. To join and provide comments at these meetings, go to this link; http://www.cityofsacramento.org/Clerk/Services/Redistricting/Public-Meetings

Each public meeting allows you to listen and call in with your comments. It is also highly recommend that you go into e-comments and type a public comment. These comments will remain in the public record and the Commissioners must consider the comments when drawing the final maps. It’s a good idea to put in an “e-comment”  prior to each meeting, so mark your calendar!

Here is the breakdown of upcoming meetings. You can make a public comment for all of them:

November 10th – Summarize all submitted maps

November 18th – discuss all maps for consideration

December 1st – Select top 4 city district maps in the running

December 8th – Select the final revised maps

December 16th – Adopt the final district map for Sacramento city

You can also email the 12 Redistricting Commissioners at: redistricting@cityofsacramento.org.
