On January 13th, the Land Use Committee hosted an informational meeting.

The discussion was focused on the 2040 General Plan and high-density alternatives for lots in traditional single-family neighborhoods. The presentation provided a thorough review of different types of “missing middle” housing proposed. Also questions concerning the impact these changes would have on all Sacramento neighborhoods. Questions raised included affordability,  infrastructure (sewage and water) tree canopy and gentrification.

100 guests attended the call, reviewed the presentation and posted questions. Guests included Sacramento City Planners and City Councilwoman Katie Valenzuela/District 4.

We will continue to share information on this topic and will support the other ten neighborhoods involve to add their voice to the conversation. Many are low and middle-income single family neighborhoods who we look forward to hearing from as well!

We’d like to thank Kirk Vyverberg, Land Use Committee Chair for a professional and details presentation. Also Marty Martinez for moderating the ZOOM call. And a special thank you to our speakers for taking the time to connect with our community.
