The LPCA would like to remind the public William Land Regional Park is a place where everyone from all over Sacramento and beyond come to enjoy it. Regardless of what anyone is celebrating, there are still rules to keep us all safe. Everyone is welcome, unless they disrespect the rules, park and park staff.

Right now, our city parks struggle with a very tight budget. There are 12 city park rangers for around 250 city parks and natural spaces. At the time of this incident, this park ranger was the only one on duty for the entire city.

If there had been proper funding, staffing and early interactions with the group who attacked the park ranger, this incident may have been mitigated.

We support the proper funding of our city parks. We support the hard work of our park rangers and parks team. We hope the city will consider supporting the City Parks Department and all of our parks by providing adequate resources.

The LPCA advocates for William Land Regional Park and the surrounding neighborhood. Our goal is to support and improve the quality of life for everyone who visits and lives here.
