We love our neighborhoods. They are where we raise our kids, make life-long friends and come home to recharge after work. Unfortunately, the impact of homelessness has also taken its toll on our own “safe spaces” including schools, parks and local businesses.
This 3-minute survey was simply designed to understand the viewpoint of neighbors. Personal impacts, how they feel and what they think about homelessness in their neighborhoods. Our neighborhood’s voices must be part of the conversation if we are to begin the process to make real change. We asked Land Park and surrounding neighborhoods to respond and leave their comments. We received 334 responses in five days!
(Note: since the survey was launched, the old Raley’s site has been removed from District 4’s proposed safe ground site list.)

We are not surprised to see the majority of neighbors are very aware of who needs help vs. who needs law enforcement, mental health and rehab. Feel free to share these results with your neighbors, friends and city/county leaders.
A more comprehensive survey on the topic of homelessness will be posted in the future.
