Neighbors have asked “what is going to happen with the zoo space in Land Park?” Right now, we don’t know either. But we do know that it’s important to expect a place at the table when choosing new amenities. The Land Park Community Association is not in charge of what will go into the zoo space, but we can advocate. And that includes getting your feedback and great ideas!
So far, the city has made it clear that whatever goes in must be equal to what is there now. That means it must be family-friendly and financially self-sustaining.
Elk Grove has approved the zoo and is moving forward on preparing their own space. The process may take several years with a possible move date of 2028.
Now is the perfect time to get our ideas and thoughts to the city. Once your responses are collected and organized, the LPCA will share with the community and Sacramento City leaders.
Don’t hesitate, tell us what you think should go into the zoo space!
